Sunday Funday: Outfit of the Day

Good evening loves!

Hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend! I know I have, it been quite busy with lots of plans, but I love it! Tomorrow is a new week with a fresh start, and my birthday is in a few days, so a lot of exciting things happening! I just love summer times.

So here today’s outfit, sorry for the very bright pictures, I need to work on the setting on the camera. I’m quite pale and I love wearing light colors, so I end up looking like a bright spot in the pictures.

I am defiantly loving wearing skirts at the moment, it’s just so cute and comfortable! I love anything girly and love feeling comfortable so skirts are the perfect fit for me. I recently bought this white skirt I’m wearing, unfortunately I didn’t try it on in the store so it’s a tad bit big, but it works. The length of the skirt is longer than I’m used to with this style, but I don’t mind. Makes it classier I guess. I paired it off with a baby pink crop top,my new Chanel-inspired ballerina flats, a cream and gold blazer, and lastly, my favorite bag (at the moment).IMG_0782

Oh, and I love wearing my hair like this, it’s so easy and get’s my hair out of my face, which is awesome!

So I’ve bought some new skin care products because I was experiencing some problems with my previous problems now that the sun is out. I’ll write a post about what happened and which new products I’m trying out! So stay tuned!

I failed…

A few weeks ago I told you about doing the Project 333, which is only using 33 items for 3 months. I am going to be 100% percent honest. I’ve failed badly. It started good and I was able to stick to my 33 items, but it quickly became boring. I felt like I was wearing the same stuff over and over again, and for someone who loves fashion, that does not stick in the long run. In addition to that, the weather here literally varies like CRAZY, one day we have autumn weather with cold temperatures and a lot of rain, then the next day it’s full on summer. These changes make it so difficult only having 33 items, because it’s like I must have clothing for all round weather, which means I only have very limited options for each weather.

Also, I feel bad for not using half of my clothes, I feel like getting rid of that much clothes are such a waste, and not something I’m looking to do. It’s even more wasteful than actually keeping the clothes and using them. Therefore, I will probably end this experiment for the time being. I just felt like it was not right of me, at least on this point of my life.

I am still trying to buy more second-hand stuff whenever I can though, however I am not always able to find what I am looking for in the thrift store, and in these cases I’ll buy from a store. I am not buying as much new stuff anymore thug, mostly because I have to stop spending so much money. I’m telling you, living on our own is expensive!

So, that’s a little update on the whole wardrobe part. Even though I am stopping this project, I am still intrigued by the idea of a capsule wardrobe, or at least a wardrobe that is perfect for me and my style. A wardrobe that has pieces that i love and go well together, and that I wear! So it’s still a process I am working on, however I am now doing it with a different approach.

I’ll keep you updated!

Dinner Outfit

Good evening my loves!

Today is Henrik’s birthday, and we went out to dinner with his parents to celebrate. It was a lovely dinner with delicious Mexican food, which is both our favorite.

I LOVE to dress up and of course take advantage of any opportunity I have to do so. Therefore, I decided to wear this white dress with lace detailing, because it was very appropriate for summer, and I’ve never worn it before, so I thought it was about time. The shoes, even though they look cute, they are terrible to walk in! Not only are they very tall, they are so “flimsy” and unstable that I feel like they might break any second. IMG_0666// Dress – Nelly / Shoes – Nelly / Bag – Mango / Blazer -Gift //IMG_0645IMG_0607IMG_0562IMG_0558IMG_0596The makeup look of the night! I was in a rush after work to get ready for dinner, so I didn’t have time to redo my makeup, just freshen it up and add some more. I hate doing that, because I feel like my face need to be cleansed after so many hours of work, but surprisingly my makeup still looked very good at the end of the day.

I unfortunately didn’t take the camera with my to dinner, so I have no photos from that, which is a shame. I’d use the camera on my phone, but that one is broken, so yeah. I need to get a new one soon!

That’s  it for now guys, I’ll se you again soon with some exciting posts!

Outfit & makeup of the day

Hi my loves!

I know I’ve been gone for a little while, but I’ve honestly been lacking some motivation, and finding it really hard to be inspired to blog. I will not just blog, jst for the sake of it, I want to publish content that I’m excited about and that I truely want to share. I’m really gonna make an effort and get back into the swing of things, because I really do love blogging! There will probably be a lot of makeup, beauty and fashion post coming your way soon!

So lately, I’ve been really getting into wearing a little more makeup than I have for the past months, and I’m really loving it! I love playing with makeup, and because I’ve kept it really natural for a while, it was a nice change to play a little more with my eyeshadows. I’ll make a favorite post soon, I promise!

Also, the weather here in Bergen have been AH-MA-ZING lately, and I’ve finally been able to use my summer clothes! I’ve been loving wearing more skirts and dresses, and if I’m completely honest, I’ve kind of failed the whole Project 333… I love fashion waaay too much.

IMG_0410I did a subtle look using the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, and added some natural falsies to really bring out my eyes. I find it really difficult showing my makeup on camera, it always looks so subtle on the photos compared to in real life. I need to play a little round with the settings of the camera to see if I can make it look more accurate.

And I’ve been playing with the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade, and I know I’m not really that good at it yet. I really need to play with it more to get the hang of it.

IMG_0414IMG_0515Not the best photo, but it was so bright, it was difficult to get a good one. I word this really pretty summer dress with flower prints on it and a cut out in the back. it’s really comfortable to wear, and is perfect for summer. I paired it with a pair of black sandal heels, that was a little bit difficult to walk in. Of well, what don’t we do for fashion, right?

Tomorrow is Henrik’s birthday and we are therefore going out to dinner with his parents. Hopefully I’ll be able to take some outfit and makeup photos, and if I’m really good, I’ll get some photos from the dinner as well.

Have a lovely evening!

Introducing my capsule wardrobe!

Hi sweeties!

I am finally done. I think. I have now narrowed down my wardrobe, including clothes and accessories (such as shoes, bags ect.) to 35 items! The rules say 33 items, I know, but rules are made to be broken and I felt I needed my wardrobe to be at 35 items for it to be complete. All my other clothes I have now packed away and stored out of sight, except a few pieces that I might want to switch into my wardrobe when summer arrives for real. If that even happens of course. Switching out some items and replacing them with other items along the next months is something I do expect, after a while of using my capsule wardrobe I will know which items I might not use as much as I thought, and which items I feel like is missing. It’s all a process, and this is the first time, for as long I can remember, my wardrobe have been this compact. It will defiantly be an adjustment, however I am very ready for it. Some mistakes will probably happen along the way, and I am not too strict on myself.

IMG_9743Because this wardrobe will be during the spring and summer, my color palette contain were light colors. I personally think I suit lighter colors better anyways because of my light complexion. Dark colors have a tendency of looking rather harsh on me. As you can see, I’ve probably got way more white tops than I need, but it’s my favorite color to wear so I am going to wear it.

IMG_9737I chose this purse because I love the structure, as well as it’s the perfect size. It fits just what I need to carry, without being overly big. The sunglasses are from  Micheal Kors, and honestly, I don’t love them, but it’s the best pair I own. They do the job, so they’ll do for now.

IMG_9739The shoes on top I will most likely switch out after a while, the boots because I feel they’re too warm for summer, and the grey flats because I honestly don’t know how to style them. However, I do think they are really pretty, and I bought them in a cute boutique in Milano, Italy, so I’m determined to give them a chance.

I love the idea of a minimalistic wardrobe and I’m looking more into minimizing other stuff I own, like beauty and makeup products (which I have quite a collection of). Truth is I don’t even use half of it, and it’s just cluttering the apartment. Because we don’t have any storage room, our bedroom becomes more a  storage space, and I get so stressed out of all the stuff that is everywhere. I just want it out of my sight and have a clean, clutter free apartment. It’s defiantly something I will work on in the very near future, but for now, i’ll will give this project 333/my capsule wardrobe some extra attention to perfect it to my liking. I also believe it’s important to start with one aspect, instead of trying to minimizing everything at once, because such a task can seem very overwhelming.

I am very happy with the result guys, and so happy I’m finally done planning this! Now I’m just looking forward using my capsule wardrobe and be creative.

New in!

Happy Wednesday lovlies!

If you’re new to my blog, you might not know that I’ve set a challenge for myself. I am going to try to buy most of my clothes and accessories second-hand. Of course, some thing, like underwear and exercise clothes I will buy new, but I will make my best effort to find everything else second-hand. Thrift stores are obviously good places to buy second hand stuff, and usually at a good price. Even though I do like the thrift store, and I’ve defiantly found some gems in there, certain things, like shoes and outer-wear, is often well-worn. Therefore, I’ve been researching online market places as well, to see what they have to offer. I have to say that you can defiantly find some good quality, barely worn, stuff there! I’ve been looking at two Norwegian online markets, and I did some shopping!

IMG_9611Rainboots are something you defiantly need here in Bergen, however, it’s something I’ve hardly worn, ever. One reason is because when I was younger, it wasn’t considered “cool”, and secondly, I never really liked the rain boots I owned because they didn’t fit well and always gave my blisters. Well, people change, and I no longer care whether or not rain boots are “cool”, I just want to keep my feet dry when it’s raining. After some browsing online, I found these black Hunter rain boots in my area, which was barely worn and at a good price!  The best part: they were my size! Long story short: I now am the proud owner of a pair of Hunter rain boots. And honestly, I am so happy about this purchase. I was able to get a wonderful pair of rain boots second-hand, at a great price, and they fit perfectly! I truly never believed rain boots could ever fit that perfectly!

IMG_9607Next purchase is actually a backpack! If you didn’t know, I am actually going back to school full-time next fall, and was in need of a backpack. I’ve been on the lookout for one for some time now, and browsed several thrift stores without any luck. While mentioning to one of my friends that I was looking for a backpack, but had no luck, she offered to sell me hers because she didn’t use it anymore! Of course I said yes! She sent me a picture and it was just what I needed. It’s a leather backpack, however I am not sure if it’s real leather. Of course, I’d like it to be faux leather, but I’ll let it slide if its real, only because it’s second hand, and I then have not directly supported the leather industry, in my opinion anyways. I also have a budget to follow, and this fitted very well into that.

IMG_9636Lastly, I’ve been planning my capsule wardrobe, and realized I wanted a plain white, good quality shirt. I’ve had my eye on a Ralph Lauren shirt for a while, and was so excited when I found this one on a different online market (app) and it’s in perfect condition! It’s clear it’s hardly been worn, it has no discoloration (we all know whites can turn grayish) or other damages, which is very good considering it’s second hand. I love it, it’s just what I had in mind, and I’m very excited to get much use out of it!

As you can see, you can find so many great thing second-hand, because a lot of people sell thing they have hardly used! It’s way better for the environment and you wallet! Win-win!

I hope you’ve had a great week so far, I cannot believe I’ve only got one workday left before  the weekend!

Outfit of the day: Boyfriend jeans

Hello world!

I am here today to share today’s outfit with you all! It’s been another beautiful day here in Bergen, but it was a little bit chilly in the morning which is why I decided on these very ripped boyfriend jeans. They are cooler than normal jeans because of all the rips, but warmer than shorts. Perfect for today’s morning weather.

So far it’s been a lovely day, both me and Henrik have the day off, so we had a lovely morning eating breakfast together, which is rear on weekdays, but I love it when it does happen. Later we trained some cardio on the running track close to our apartment and played tennis afterwards. I actually really enjoy playing tennis, something that’s a little bit surprising. I am quite bad at it though, but we are improving a little bit each time we play. It’s also so much fun doing something together.

IMG_9562IMG_9541// Top – Bik Bok / Boyfriend jeans – Gina Tricot / Purse – Mango / Shoes – don’t remember //

Here’s the outfit! I really liked how the top is rather cute, while the jeans are more edgy. I find that it gives some balance to the outfit and makes it a little interesting. I paired it with my gladiator sandals which I had to dig out from hiding inside the closet all through winter. I love that I can dress more lightly now, and don’t have to put on layers on layers to stay warm. Let’s keep our fingers crosses the weather will stay this way.IMG_9547.JPGIMG_9582My favorite arm candy at the moment, quite minimal. Love this Michael Kors watch I got from Henrik, it’s the most gorgeous watch ever. The bracelet I’ve actually made myself. Not very impressive, but I like that it’s simple, yet has a sparkle to it.

So tell me how was your day?
